I heard Michael Mace of Rubicon Consulting talked at a conference and was really impressed. He’s the one who said that the Mobile Platforms, unlike the desktop, is diverging to more platforms instead of converging.
Here’s a video of Michael talking about how to price a Mobile App. He said, “thinking about how to price an app after you finish development is exactly the wrong thing to do.”
The considerations that go into pricing a Mobile App depends on many factors, including:
- Who’s the customer?
- Is it Entertainment vs. Productivity tool?
- Is it meant to be an Impulse Buy vs. a Researched Purchase?
- How big is the problem that you are trying to solve?
- How much is the solution worth to the customer?
